2 arrested in stabbing death of Ala. woman, 89
ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) — Police in Anniston say two people have been charged in the stabbing death of an 89-year-old woman.
Anniston police Capt. Allen George says 32-year-old Walter Pinkston and 30-year-old Monica Shively were charged Wednesday with capital murder in the death of Alma Flemming.
Authorities say the two were arrested at a state patrol post in Jacksonville, where Pinkston was trying to pay fines and renew his driver's license.
Investigators have said Flemming died of multiple stab wounds and was most likely attacked on Monday. George says Pinkston and Shively did yard work and other household chores at the woman's house.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive, and it's unclear if Pinkston and Shively have attorneys.
