2 Ala. sheriff's deputies injured in crash

ATTALLA, Ala. (AP) — Sheriff's officials in eastern Alabama say two deputies have been hospitalized after a head-on collision.

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin told the Gadsden Times (http://bit.ly/16nVZck ) two deputies were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries in an accident in Attalla Thursday afternoon. Attalla is about five miles west of Gadsden.

Officials say the deputies were waiting to make a left turn when a truck hit their unmarked car head-on and sent it careening into a nearby lumber truck.

Entrekin says the deputies were conscious and alert after the accident.
