BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — A steel and bronze sculpture honoring four girls killed in a 1963 church bombing is scheduled to be unveiled in Birmingham.

The memorial of the bombing at the 16th Street Baptist Church features four girls on a bench surrounded by doves. It is nearly 10 feet tall and more than five feet long.

It will be unveiled Saturday afternoon at the corner of Sixteenth Street North and Sixth Avenue North in downtown Birmingham. The unveiling is part of several days of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the bombing.

Attorney General Eric Holder and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are scheduled to speak at events Sunday in Birmingham.
