Authorities say they've arrested a man following a chase and manhunt in Shelby County.

Sheriff's officials say 24-year-old Steven Earl Owens was arrested Monday morning after security officers encountered him at Alabama Power's Wilsonville Steam Plant.

The security workers captured and disarmed the man. Owens is now charged with three counts of attempted murder.

A manhunt began after sheriff's officials got a call about a domestic dispute in Wilsonville on Sunday night.

Deputies tried to stop a man in a vehicle, but he allegedly led them on a chase and fired a handgun at police who were chasing him. Authorities stopped the car using a tire deflation strip, but the man ran away.

Deputies set up checkpoints on roads leading in and out of Wilsonville during the search.
