The son of Alabama's newly-appointed Secretary of Law Enforcement has been arrested on drug distribution charges.

Authorities say 23-year-old Christopher Collier, of Irvington, was arrested Friday morning and taken to the Mobile County jail on four counts of distribution of a controlled substance. AL.com (

http://bit.ly/13xqmxt) reports the man was allegedly selling Oxycodone pills and Mobile County Sheriff's officials say his arrest is part of an ongoing investigation.

Collier was released on $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 6.

Collier is the son of Spencer Collier, who was appointed by Gov. Robert Bentley April 5. Collier also serves as the state's Homeland Security Director.

It is unclear if Collier has an attorney.
