NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Whitney Houston is being remembered at a funeral service in Newark, N.J. Actor Kevin Costner, who co-starred with Houston in "The Bodyguard," describes her as a star who was uncertain of her fame and wondered, "am I good enough?" He says that self-doubt "was the burden that made her great and the part that caused her to stumble in the end." Houston died a week ago at 48.

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown has made a brief appearance at her funeral. He arrived at the New Jersey church as the service began. After touching the casket, Brown walked to the back of the church where security guards told him he would be seated but the people with him would have to sit apart. Brown left, appearing upset. Houston and Brown were married 15 years and have one daughter. Their tumultuous relationship ended in 2007.

VIENNA (AP) — Diplomats tell The Associated Press that Iran is readying a huge underground site for a major expansion. They say Tehran has completed electrical work and other preparations that will allow the installation of thousands of new centrifuges that could speed up the production of nuclear material that could be used in weapons.

BEIRUT (AP) — Syrian forces have broken up a funeral procession that turned into one of the largest protests in Damascus since the start of Syria's 11-month uprising. Activists say at least one person was killed when security forces fired live rounds and tear gas at the crowd. It happened during a visit by a Chinese envoy, who said his country will back a solution to the crisis based on proposals put forward by the Arab League.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's campaign team has shifted gears to consider the possibility that his Republican opponent could be Rick Santorum instead of Mitt Romney. Campaign officials confirm that they've begun combing through the former Pennsylvania senator's background, looking for possible lines of attack. Romney leads the delegate race, but recent polls show Santorum's popularity surging.
