The results are in for our CBS 8 News text poll on the Selma Mayor's race.

You've been texting your votes all day -- and the texts have been tallied.

Former Selma mayor James Perkins comes away with 189 votes, that's 80%, compared to current mayor George Evans, who had 47 votes, or 20%.

It's important to point out this text vote is an unscientific poll. Election day is Tuesday, August 28.
