Two political races in Elmore County came down to just a handful of votes after Tuesday's election, and the results of one race may be contested.

The Elmore County Probate Judge Office, who handles the election results, reported County Commission District Three candidate Wayne Macon lost by just 48 votes to Incumbent David Bowen.

Macon told CBS 8 News, he is looking into getting a recount and has already contacted the Secretary of State's Office about it.

It was an even tighter race in County Commission District Two between Incumbent Mack Daughtery and James Trey Taylor. Taylor took that race by just seven votes.

Daughtery told CBS 8 News, he will not be seeking a recount.

Results:

District 2:

Daughtery - 1,068 votes/49.84%

Taylor - 1,075 votes/50.16%

District 3:

Macon - 913 votes/48.72%

Bowen - 961 votes/51.28%
