Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney raised more than $2 million during his visit to Birmingham.

His campaign told The Birmingham News that about 350 tickets were sold to his private fundraiser Wednesday evening at The Club. The tickets ranged from $1,000 per person to attend a reception to $25,000 for dinner with the candidate.

More than 75 people protested outside the event. The protest was organized by the Immigrant Youth Leadership Initiative of Alabama.
