My father's heart attack changed the lives of my family forever and genetics play a major role.

However, there is a misconception that it doesn't happen to women in their 20's and 30's.  Cardiovascular disease doesn't discriminate and is no longer considered an older man's disease.  It can strike all ages, both genders and all ethnicities claiming lives or robbing victims of their quality of life.

That's why my whole family took heart.  No matter our age or gender.
