Gov. Lurleen Wallace may have only served in office for a short time before cancer took her life, but she will always be remembered for the lifetime of kindness that she showed to others across the state.

Gov. Lurleen Wallace was governor from 1967 until her death in May of 1968. But even before that time, she was already known by many as Alabama's Sweetheart.
