Cows are delaying rush hour traffic  on I-85 this morning.

The Alabama Department of Transportation tells CBS 8  the interstate is open but  drivers can expect delays between Montgomery and Auburn around mile marker 30.

They delay comes after an 18-wheeler carrying dozens of cows overturned early this morning spilling them onto the highway.

Right now the DOT is working to round up the roaming cows.

Workers have deployed warning signs to warn drivers and are assisting with the clean up.

We'll have more on the CBS 8 News at noon.
