A Decade Later, Montgomery Shooting Survivor Remembers D.C. Sniper AttackA decade ago Claudine Parker and Kellie Adams were closing the ABC liquor store on Zelda Road, when bullets flew through the air and hit them. On September 21, 2002, Parker was shot dead and Adams was hit in the face, but survived. The two women were attacked during a robbery tied to the infamous D.C. Snipers case. A gun brochure found near the scene tied the shootings to one of the D.C. snipers, Lee Boyd Malvo. Malvo and John Muhmammed went on to kill 10 more people in the D.C. area during October of 2002. Muhammaed was executed for those shootings in 2009, but Kellie Adams says even though it's been 10 years, it's still difficult for her to go out in public. She now lives in Lumpkin, Georgia. |
