ASU Facebook Reaction to Trustees Resignation

Tools

By Ellis Eskew

We asked our Facebook fans what they think about the situation with ASU Board Chairman Elton Dean resigning and Marvin Wiggins not resigning his position by the Governor's 5pm deadline on Thursday.

Jason Davenport says, "Elton Dean did the right thing by resigning, saving the state and university time and legal troubles. This doesn't end the university's troubles though, as Wiggins will more than likely be removed by the governor. The Board of Trustees has been corrupt and under corruptible influence for many years."

Darrius Smith says,  "It's time for closure for both sides...The focus needs to be on the students and what's best for them. The Students of ASU have invested their time and effort for an education at the University and their voices need to be heard."

John Paul Snowden Jr. Says, "I think it needs to stop or let the state take it over."

What is taking Wiggins and Dean so long to be oust? As long as these two are in the mix, there would not be peace at ASU. Wiggins and Dean move out of the way!

They need to investigate how Deans daughter and son-in-law got a city contract for doing the inflatables for first Saturday's downtown.

It is sad that ASU is always in the news over negative issues. I hate it but please be mindful when two top heads leave to replace them with two that LOOK like them or there will be an issue. Will ASU continue to be an HBCU.

Somewhere in Wiggins delusional mind he thinks that he will fight this and become the next BoT Chairman. Wiggins and Dean are part of the problem at ASU and have no place in the solution.

I wonder when/if the state will start investigating Mr. Dean's activities on the Montgomery County Commission. If he's been doing questionable things with the ASU Board of Trustee's...I can't imagine that he's not been doing similar things in his capacity on the county commission.
