AUM Evacuates Due to Gas Leak

Parts of the campus of Auburn University Montgomery had to be evacuated after a possible gas leak.

Around 10 o'clock this morning, construction crews working on the quad drilled into a gas line, according to an AUM public safety official .

All academic buildings around the quad had to be evacuated.

Alagasco, hazmat teams and Montgomery fire officials were all called to the scene.

As of early this afternoon, the problem was fixed and the evacuation orders were lifted.
