The plan to redraw Alabama's Legislative districts is now final.
Both houses passed the plan around 4:00 am Thursday morning with the Alabama State Senate voting 24-12 to pass a House of Representatives redistricting plan moments before the House approved a Senate plan by a 65-36 vote.
Votes fell mainly along party lines with Republicans voting in favor of the plan and Democrats voting against.
The reapportionment measure will now go to Governor Robert Bentley for his consideration, the United States Justice Department must also review and approve the plan.
Both chambers adjourned after the vote without assigning a day for further meeting, ending the 2012 special session.
