Alabama movie theaters are showing the new Batman movie as planned despite the killings during a screening in Colorado.

A few cars were in the parking for a mid-morning screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" at an Amstar 14 theater in the Birmingham suburb of Alabaster on Friday. A police car cruised by the multiplex, but officials say no extra security is being added.

Theater manager Stephen Byrd says he's treating the Colorado shootings as an isolated incident and didn't see any reason to cancel the show.

Janet Wiles was buying tickets for the "The Dark Knight." She says she's not worried about attending, but she's also glad police regularly patrol near the theater.

Theater websites show the film also is playing as planned in Mobile, Huntsville and Montgomery.
