Alabama's AG Speaks at Religious Freedom Rally
By CBS-8 News

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange is scheduled to be keynote speaker at a rally in Birmingham sponsored by an organization that opposes the Obama administration's mandate that employers provide workers with birth control coverage.

The rally will be at noon Friday in Kelly Ingram Park in downtown Birmingham, across the street from the 16th Street Baptist Church.

Also speaking at the rally will be Michael Warsaw, president of the Eternal Word Television Network.

The director of the Birmingham Stand Up For Religious Freedom organization, Jim Pinto, said the rally will be one of 156 similar events to be held Friday around the country.

Pinto said the Catholic Church is opposed to the mandate because it tells church organizations to cover activities that are against the beliefs of church members.
