By Alabama News Network

For people downtown, it sounded like the capitol building was having a biker rally today at noon.

But instead of a bike rally, it was hosting the second "Ride for Rights and Motorist Awareness."

The seven mile police-escorted ride to the state capito promotes safety and awareness.

It was hosted by the Dixie ABATE.

Governor Robert Bentley declared May, Motorcycle Safety month.
