Body of Missing Wetumpka Man Found in Pond

The search for a missing Wetumpka man comes to a sad end.

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin tells CBS 8 News that crews have found the body of 65-year-old William Edward hobbs.

He says it appears Hobbs veered off from the drive way into the pond by his home.

Divers found his truck in the pond Wednesday morning, and a homeland security dive team from Montgomery helped locate Hobbs' body.

Franklin says he does not suspect foul play, but officials are waiting for autopsy results.
