Alabama GOP Considers Campaign Changes While Raising Money

Republicans are considering changes to campaign finance laws.

House Republicans want to lift the existing ban against corporate contributions.

State law bars lawmakers from raising money during a legislative session.

Corporations cannot give directly to candidates or explicitly try to influence elections, but they can pay for lunches, dinners, or other events for lawmakers as long as they are deemed "educational."
