Child Killed in Hit and Run Accident

A young child is dead following a hit and run accident in Montgomery.

It happened this afternoon on the 700 block of Clark Street.

Police say a driver of an SUV hit a three-year-old boy while backing out of a driveway.

The child sustained life-threatening injuries, and later died at a local hospital.

The initial investigation finds an argument occurred at the home on Clark Street right before the child was hit.

MPD says the driver fled the scene but later turned himself in.

Charges may be filed once the investigation is complete.
