City of Montgomery Sued Over Alleged Robbery

A man is suing the city of Montgomery after he claims he was robbed by an on-duty Montgomery police officer.

 

Terry Hughes says the alleged robbery happened in August of 2011.  Hughes says the uniformed officer pulled him over for speeding, and then threatened to put him in prison if he did not pay $650.

The officer accused in the incident, R.C. Daniels was fired, but not prosecuted.

The city of Montgomery, the police department, Police Chief Kevin Murphy, and Daniels have all been named in the suit.
