People all across the River Region are teaming up to help a local teenager still in the hospital after a wreck.

17-year-old Shelby Belinge was riding in a car when it flipped over on old ridge road in Prattville Saturday. She is still recovering from her injuries in a Birmingham hospital.

Her family and friends say they've received donations from dozens of people who want to help. Now several fundraisers are planned to support the teenager and her family.

"This really hits close to home, really close to home, and I never imagined that all of this would be going on for Shelby and we are so grateful and so thoughtful for everything that everyone is doing," said Heather Easterling, a close family friend who is helping with the fundraisers.
