After being in business for more than 62-years, the D.W. Moody True Value Hardware store on South Decatur Street is closing Saturday.

Moody's other location on McGehee Road closed more than a year and a half ago. Like many other small businesses, the store was hit hard by the tough economy with less income.

"It was neighborhood fixture," said Tim Robinson, the store manager. "I mean everybody knew that Moody Hardware was the place that you come to get...some help, some service to take care of what you needed."

Many residents were longtime customers, like Renis Jones, who has been shopping at D.W. Moody's for more than 50 years. "I'm [going to] miss the heck out of it," Jones said, "I'm sure am sorry they are closing it...I couldn't believe they were closing they close the other one out on Woodley Road and now he's closing this one but anyway I'll miss it."

All items in the store are 75% off.
