Weekdays he's Montgomery's Chief of Police but, at home he's just Dad.

Chief Kevin Murphy served as "Dad of the Day" for DADS or Daddy and Daughter Saturdays at the Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library.

Chief Murphy read two books to the group with positive and fun messages.

The DADS program encourages reading while building father-daughter relationships.

"Watching their faces as I read and the smiles and the laughter," Chief Murphy said. "I can do this everyday, it's a great feeling and this is the next generation of Montgomerians and we need to build them up and give them everything they need."

The girls also decorated their own hot chocolate mugs with their dads. The next "Daddy and Daughter Saturday" will be December 8th.
