Saturday was a very busy day on the Alabama River as Montgomery hosted the 4th annual dragon boat festival.

The festival has been growing ever since it kicked off in 2010 and now attracts almost 10,000 spectators and and 70 teams.

The teams of 21 people are arranged into rowers, a steers person, and a drummer who race against other dragon boats to a finish line.

On the riverside there are vendors, exhibitors, and all sorts of things for crowds to look at and be a part of, bringing out people from all across the area.

All that fun is for a good cause. The event benefits two local charities, "Rebuilding Together Central Alabama" and "Bridge Builders Alabama."
