Elmore Co. Deputy Shoots and Kills Montgomery FirefighterElmore County Sheriff's officials say an off-duty Montgomery firefighter was fatally shot during a domestic violence call. County Sheriff Bill Franklin says 34-year-old Jeremy Acre was shot once Tuesday night and was pronounced dead on the scene. Montgomery Public Safety Department officials say Acre was hired in 1999. Franklin says deputies arrived around 10:55 p.m. and heard a gun being racked when they approached the door. Franklin says Acre opened the door armed with a gun and refused to drop the weapon after deputies repeatedly ordered him to do so. Franklin says deputies used a Taser on Acre before shooting him. Franklin says the former firefighter was able to remove one of the prongs and was still holding the gun when he threatened the deputies. (Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. Sheriffs involved need o answer a more basic question - how can you hear an handgun "being racked" through a door? Sounds fishy...

They said he still had the gun when he threaten the deputy...my question is..did he point the gun at the deputy? Was it really necessary to kill the man??
