Faulkner University is celebrating the opening of a brand new stadium that promises to have a big impact on the community.

The stadium honors John Mark Stallings, the late son of former Alabama football coach Gene Stallings.

Hundreds of people showed up as the brand new campus stadium was dedicated in the name of John Mark Stallings.  The son of former Alabama head coach Gene Stallings passed away in 2008, but his impact on the lives of those throughout the world is forever felt.

Gene Stallings spoke to the crowd, and a statue of coach and his son was unveiled.

The university also intends to make the athletic complex available for community sports competitions, especially those designed for underserved citizens.
