Battle in the Bayou: The Link Between Bama-LSU and Presidential Politics

Tools

By Ashley Thompson

Does the Alabama-LSU football game go hand-in-hand with presidential politics?

That may depend on just how superstitious you are...

Over the past seven elections, the Alabama-LSU game's outcome has reflected that years' Presidential election.

An Alabama win equals a Democrat being elected president.

An LSU win means a Republican is elected.

This streak goes all the way back to 1984 when Ronald Reagan won re-election over Walter Mondale... and every election since.

What do you think? Is this by coincidence? Or maybe something more..?
