By Alabama News Network

Gov. Robert Bentley joined anchor Glenn Halbrooks in studio to discuss the winter storm than has hammered Alabama today.

Bentley said that thankfully, there have been very few power outages statewide, even with the ice that has formed in many areas.

So far, the hardest-hit area appears to be in and around Birmingham, which had only been forecast to receive a dusting of snow. Instead, snow and ice left the area in gridlock, with drivers stranded in their cars. Bentley says that emergency workers are there to help drivers and the schools where students are stranded for the night.

Nice of him to close state government tomorrow after he made state employees use leave time if they thought they should leave work early today. Mayne that's why so many were still on the road.
