How is Bama Viewed Across the Country?

The Alabama Crimson Tide may be national champions, and ranked number 1. But a new unofficial poll shows their fans are pretty much only limited to the state.

How does the rest of the country feel about the Crimson Tide?

"A lot of people compare Alabama to what Southern Cal was years ago when Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart were there. Alabama is well known," said sports analyst John Longshore.

A recent facebook poll shows where the fans of the top-25 teams are located by each county in the country. It's based on fans that have "liked" the team page on facebook.
The crimson color covers only Alabama and parts of west Tennessee.

Nicole Copeland commented on our facebook page with, "I am not surprised--each fan base seems to be regional as evidenced by this graphic."

So, how do other fans across the country view alabama?

Mark Lericos, former sports director and anchor in Louisville, Kentucky
says it's,  "a dynasty... if they aren't perceived that way then the person is A)delusional, B) not following football , C) letting their hatred cloud their opinion."

We asked our sports analyst John Longshore to weigh in.

"The state as a whole has a very good image in terms of college football. And even the casual fan is very knowledgeable of the success we've had here. Of course, fans of other schools as I mentioned, they are a little tired of Alabama's success," said Longshore.

However, Dusty Wade has a different perspective on the poll taken.

"I can speak from experience that this is not accurate. I've been to 20 different major US cities that had Alabama sports themed bars, and they were rocking and rolling on game days," said Wade.

Whether you roll with the Tide or not, the fans are definitely here to stay.

Auburn was not included in the poll since it was only of the Top 25 ranked teams.
