Huntington College Students Help Out with Extreme Church MakeoverWhile most college students are getting ready for the first day or week of classes, a group of first year Huntington College students are lending a helping hand. Saturday morning, about 150 freshman worked with members of the Dexter Avenue United Methodist Church for their own version of an extreme church makeover. Students painted, remodeled and worked on other hands on projects inside the church. "They're excited! Anytime you get to come and serve God and be his hands and feet, there's an excitement that comes with it," said worship minister Ryan Snell. "We got a bunch of students here that have a great attitude about coming and just helping out!" Saturday's extreme church makeover was part of Huntingdon's Big Red Weekend, which is held the Friday and Saturday before the classes start. |
