Police Urge Drivers to "Click It or Ticket" Memorial Day Weekend

With memorial day weekend just one week away many people will be packing up the car and hitting the roads but ,while traveling, the Montgomery Police Department is urging people to buckle up.

Starting  Monday, May 20th, MPD will be out in full force cracking down on motorist who are not wearing their seat belts.

It's all part of the 2013 national "Click It or Ticket" seat belt campaign.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2011 more than 11-thousand American's lives were saved because they wore a seat belt.

"Click It or Ticket" runs through June 2nd, but police officers enforce it year round.
