A Montgomery city councilman was arrested early this morning, while police also later arrested his son.

Police say C.C. Calhoun was charged with driving under the influence.

Police say at 12:30 this morning, they pulled over a car that did not stop at a red light at Woodley Road and East South Boulevard.

Officers say Councilman Calhoun was driving and they say they could smell alcohol. Police say a sobriety test was given.

After Councilman Calhoun was arrested, his son Cornelius Calhoun Junior was arrested on a harrassment charge after police say he had an encounter with police officers at headquarters.

Both have been released on bond.
