Montgomery Public Schools are responding to State Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice's letter requesting responses to questions about improper grade changing.

The statement says improper grade changing is a serious issue, and that Montgomery Public Schools officials take it seriously.

According to the statement, faculty and staff members have gotten training on new grade recovery procedures.

An outside individual will be in charge of investigating any reports of wrongdoing.

Employees who fail to follow those procedures could be punished with a written reprimand or termination.
