Montgomery Businesses have Mixed Emotions on New Gun Law

By Ellis Eskew

New gun law changes go into effect Thursday in Alabama.
But not all businesses are happy about it.

The new law will allow people more freedom to carry guns in their cars and openly in public.
We talked to several businesses in the downtown Montgomery area.
The manager at Saza says they are not in favor of guns in the restaurant.
While at Jalapenos restaurant, management says it's okay with them.

Sa Za manager Jeff Tharp says, "I'm all about guns for everybody, but we are not going to let them into our establishment. We will hang a sign up saying you can't bring the gun in."

However, down the alley way at   Jalapenos, Mateo Lopes says,  "They got the permit to carry it so... Its all good to me."

We're told the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has already received hundreds of requests from businesses ordering "no guns allowed" stickers.

The businesses that want to restrict my rights will not get my business. Hit them were it hurts, in their pocket books!

I think if you are a business owner let someone enter your place or business is truly not safe with all the crime happen in the Montgomery and surrounding areas. We must ask ourselves you and I want to subject your family or love one's to this type or environment. Allowing this type of LAW to happen will only provoke more issues or violence situation to come. There's not enough law enforcements on duty to insure every gun is legal to enter in someone business. This gun law was not the right move for this State. Pray

"Concern" do you really believe that someone that wants to do harm to another is going to not enter a place just because there is a sign? All that does is tell the thugs that they have a target rich environment. Why do you think no one ever robs a gun show or goes on a shooting spree at one? Keep drinking that liberal government Kool-Aid!
