More graves are found at Montgomery's Lincoln Cemetery.

Today volunteers used ground penetrating radar on another section of the property.

Lincoln Cemetery was originally designed to hold around 700 burials, but so far 7000 bodies have been discovered and now a few more graves can be added to the list.

Volunteers are continuing to search for lost loved ones at Lincoln Cemetery.

Lee Harrison of Goescience Consulting, says, "There's at least four burials in this twenty foot section right here."

Harrsion is using ground penetrating radar to search for more graves on the east side of the cemetery. Radar signals detect anything differnt in the soil.

"We're running the radar over all these depressions and trying to determine if indeed there are burials in those places," said Harrison.

They hope to find the true boundaries of this old cemetery soon and a total count of everyone buried here. But putting names to the remains is much more difficult.

Denise Hardin,a volunteer, says, "Somebody's out here looking for these people they're somebody's mother or brother."

Hardin volunteers her time researching who is buried here.

"Most of the time they were sharecroppers they moved from place to place so tracking down people is hard you have to go by the census and even then you're not 100 percent certain you have the right one.," said hardin.

Since the last count volunteers say they have found around four hundred more graves in another section of the cemetery and they say they expect this search to uncover several hundred more.

Members of the lincoln Cemetery Authority say grant money for the project has been depleted.

They say they are trying to obtain more grant money to continue work at the graveyard.
