The Family Sunshine Center in Montgomery fights hard to prevent acts of domestic violence.

At 11 A.M., the Murphy USA on Ann Street, along with the Family Sunshine Center, hosted a special event to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault.

There was also a toy drive to benefit the Family Sunshine Center, which helps women and children victims of domestic violence or sexual assault in our surrounding area.

"The crime rate has gone up in montgomery," said Murphy USA district manager Andrzej Bloomfield.

He added, "We just want it to be safe for our employees and our customers."

The Family Sunshine Center also passed out hot dogs and other snacks and gave out toiletries to those in need attending the event.

If someone you know or love is a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault, call the Family Sunshine Center

The 24-hour crisis line number is 1-800-650-6522.
