The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame is honoring Alabama athletic director Mal Moore.

Moore will receive the John L. Toner Award presented annually to an athletic director who has demonstrated superior administrative abilities and shown outstanding dedication to college athletics, particularly college football.

He'll be honored at the foundation's awards dinner on Dec. 4 in New York City. Moore was announced as the winner on Wednesday.

NFF President and CEO Steve Hatchell says Moore's "leadership of Alabama football has been impeccable." The Crimson Tide has won two of the last three BCS national championships.

Moore is a former Alabama player and assistant coach under Bear Bryant. He's been athletic director since 1999.
