Extending Deer Season: New Map Unveiled For Southwest Alabama

Tools

By Alabama News Network

A map now shows the Southwest Alabama region where deer season would be extended into February.

The proposed region includes all or part of eleven counties in the Southwest Alabama area.

The plan would shift its deer season to end February 10th rather than January 31st.

But it also means deer season would start ten days later so hunters can take advantage of late season rut.

The proposed extension only affects hunters using guns, bow season is still October 15th through February 10th.
