New Restaurant Coming to Downtown Montgomery's Alley Station
A new restaurant is moving into Montgomery's downtown Alley Station
The sign outside says, "Coming Soon...Culture: A Southern Grill." The restaurant is being built is the mostly vacant building located at 129 Coosa. It's the first sure sign of promised new development in the entertainment district. Mayor Todd Strange says there's 4,000 square feet of available retail and restaurant space, and the City of Montgomery is doing what it can to encourage that kind of development. "Government's job in our view of that is just to try to prime the pump. What we tried to do on Dexter Avenue here is just get an incentive in place so the private sector can come in and do their thing," he said. Also this year, Strange says ground will be broken on the Genneta Creek Project which, when done, will transform an industrial area off West Fairview Avenue and I-65 into a family friendly park. |
