Montgomery Residents Ask City to Take New Action After Rash of ShootingsA rash of shootings in Montgomery has left neighbors concerned for their safety, and begging for the city to take new action. Montgomery Police are investigating the cause of a shooting at the gas station on Southern Boulevard on Wednesday morning. While police won't confirm it, eyewitnesses tell CBS 8 the shooting is related to prostitution. Residents like Joey Stuckey say prostitution brings crime, and he says the crime has been on the South Boulevard For far too long. Both shootings happened in City Councilman David Burkette's district. His Chief of Staff Jimmy McFarland says they are working hard to clean up the streets. "It goes back to education. You know, people get caught up in emotion," Calhoun says. "We have got to continue to educate people with consequences." Police are releasing very little details in both cases, but they did say the victim in this morning's shooting is being uncooperative. |
