By Alabama News Network

Dozens of members of some civic organizations polished off their green thumbs to help plant 70 trees at Prattville's Pratt Park.

The Autauga County Pals program worked with teenage volunteers for the project.

The group was made up of boy scouts from troop 156.

The trees included a mix of Oaks, Pines, River Berch, and Ball Cypress which the group bought with a 1,000 dollar grant.

The planting is part of an ongoing project to restore tree cover in Pratt Park and along Autauga Creek.

The first tree planted yesterday was named Wyatt in honor of the young boy who planted it.
