Preliminary Hearing for New Year's Day Capital Murder Trial

A preliminary hearing was held Thursday in Montgomery's first homicide of the year.

Montgomery police say Amanda Stroud, the victim's sister, Tari Snell, the victim's ex-girlfriend, and Rickey Padgett  are being charged with Capitol murder in the death of 21 year old Danny Stroud.

Police responded to a call on the 2100 block of Powell Lane where they found Danny Stroud suffering from a single stab wound.

Stroud was transported to Baptist Medical Center South where he was later pronounced dead.

Thursday there was a preliminary hearing in the capital murder case.

Family members of the victim say the past month has been difficult.

"His mom its been even harder cause that's her baby, so just we talk every day. It's just been a hard process for everybody involved," said Daniel Ruff, the victim's cousin.

All three suspects are being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond.
