Parents and students upset at the closing of the St. Jude catholic school rallied in hopes of reopening the school today.

The group is upset that the school was suddenly shut down after this past school year.

In a petition sent to the Archdiocese of Mobile, school supporters say St. Jude is an irreplaceable educational institution, and that future generations of kids will suffer due to its closing.

The Archdiocese of Mobile says the school is closing because of financial issues and low enrollment.

The St. jude parent comittee says now that the school is closed, former students have a tough road ahead of them.
