Roller Derby Team Battles For Breast Cancer Awareness

By Alabama News Network

In their last home roller derby bout of the season, the ladies of the Capitol City Rollin' Rebels  raised money for breast cancer awareness.

A portion of the proceeds made from the bout and merchandise sold will be donated to the Joy for Life Foundation.

The foundation provides free breast cancer screenings to medically under-served women in Alabama.
"We are a grassroots team. We're for the players by the players. We promote fitness and health in women of all shapes and sizes. If anybody is interested in coming out and joining us, our practice is every Wednesday at Loonoys," said Chaotic Bard, the team's charity coordinator.
You can catch the ladies of the Rollin' Rebels one last time in Georgia, November 9, for the last bout of their season.
