Second Child Dies in Montgomery Co. Wreck

A second child involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 85 on Sunday has died. 


Two year old Heaven Brooks of Lanett was injured in the two-vehicle crash at the 14 mile marker, three miles south of Waugh.


She and her mother, 29 year old Joy Brooks, were transported to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment of their injuries.


Heaven was later transported to Children's Hospital in Birmingham, where she died just before noon Tuesday.


A child-restraint system was not in use at the time of the crash.


11 year old Naycha Knight of Montgomery was also killed in crash.
