Update:State Rep. Asks for Prayers After His In-Laws' House Was Invaded

Montgomery Police are investigating a home invasion that happened earlier today. Investigators say three people were home when two men broke in. One suspect is in custody, but the other is at large.

State Representative Jay Love says his in-laws live at the home where the invasion happened. He says his mother-in-law is suffering from broken bones and bruises.

Near the 6,000 block of Monticello Drive, police cars fill the driveway. Investigators say early Friday morning two men armed with guns knocked on the door, and when the homeowners answered, they broke in.

The homeowners are Claud And Louise Walker. Both home when it happened.

"Extreme shock. Sadness. Pain. My mother-in-law is just one of the sweetest people I know. Her home is invaded, and she's hit across the face," Love says.

Love has been at his mother-in-law's bed side all day.

"This morning our big plan, we were going to celebrate my daughter's tenth birthday, and then two hours later we were at the hospital, and my mother-in-law was in the emergency room," he says.

Sgt. Regina Duckett with Montgomery Police says there was a third person in the home this morning when the incident occurred.

"Once they committed the robbery,they did flee the scene. We were able to get behind a suspect, but we cannot confirm it's going to be the suspects at this time. It is very likely," she says.

Duckett says all that was taken was money and jewelery.

But Love says the suspects have taken more than that. Because now he says it will be a while until his 73-year-old mother-in-law will feel safe again in her home.

"The emotional scars will be there for a lot longer," he says.

Love says when the men hit her she fell to the ground. He says doctors haven't found any signs of brain damage.

CBS 8 News did talk with the third victim's family member. She didn't want to go on camera, but she says her sister was a housekeeper here. She says she is suffering from minor injuries.
