Two Alabama State University employees with ties to suspended President Joseph Silver are now out of their jobs.

Both employees previously worked at Clark Atlanta University, where Silver was provost before moving to ASU in September.

Vice President for business and finance, Edward Patrick, and the senior assistant to the president, Joyce Outler, no longer works for ASU because the board of trustees did not approve their hiring.
Patrick told the Montgomery Advertiser he and Oliver were on paid leave the day after Silver was suspended, then three days later they were fired.
